Philotech Academy trainers and speakers have gained a high expertise in their field of competence. They train the participants with commitment and passion. They are frequently involved in actual projects in order to keep their knowledge level up to date in a daily practice environment.
holds an engineering degree with a Master degree from Institute of Aeronautical Maintenance of Merignac (France). During his study he did internships at Liebherr Aerospace, EADS Sogerma and French Airforce Flight Test Center. He has started his engineer career in aeronautical maintenance company for the military A400M Program with MSG-3 analysis creation and became ATA 25 Responsible in 2007 for French part. Following Maintenance Working Group experiences on civil and military AIRBUS Programs, he performed some MSG-3 analysis for Sukhoi Program with Thales for Avionic Suite. He became trainer for Scheduled Maintenance Process for ATR Training Center through experience for New Avionic Suite embodiment (ATR 600). He is responsible for Customer Support for Philotech France and presents the MSG-3 process and seminars to the French university . Due to his many years of experience, he is able to impart practical knowledge to the scheduled maintenance program training participants.
arbeitete nach seinem Studium der Elektrotechnik zunächst als Hardware Entwickler in der internationalen Luft- und Raumfahrt Industrie. Er ist seit 15 Jahren im Bereich Sicherheits- und Zuverlässigkeits-Analysen tätig und hat umfassende Kenntnisse im Bereich der Reliatility und Safety von Geräten und Systemen erworben. Er baute ein Reliability Center auf, arbeitete als Trainer und Moderator und kann durch seine jahrelange Erfahrung praxisnah sein Wissen an die Teilnehmer weitergeben.
has been involved in the logistic land systems of the German armed forces for over 30 years. During this period he has done a lot of studies and projects either in executive or consulting function. In particular his main activities concentrates on maintenance, resources management, technical documentation, economic feasibility study and cost analysis as well as in Reliability, Availability and Maintainability of complex weapon systems. Furthermore he was involved as a QM/QA Officer on a variety of outsourcing projects of the German armed forces and in establishing industrially operating models for weapon systems in the use phase. Furthermore he is a guest lecturer at BAKWVT in Mannheim and leads seminars and workshops for further education in the fields of product logistics, cost efficiency and risk management.
hat über 40 Jahre Berufserfahrung unter anderem in Prüf- und Zuverlässigkeitstechnik für Elektronische Bauteile und Komponenten, Quality & Reliability Management, Semiconductor Manufacturing, Zuverlässigkeitsanalyse elektro-mechanischer Systeme, MTBF-Ermittlung, Entwicklung und Implementierung methodischer Vorgehensweisen zur Zuverlässigkeitssicherung sowie im Consulting zum Qualitäts- und Zuverlässigkeitsmanagement. Neben zahlreichen Veröffentlichungen in deutscher und englischer Sprache ist er auch Vorstand im ESD Forum e.V. und Mitglied in diversen Arbeitskreisen des DKE, VDI und DGQ.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Monika Heiner
has received her M.Eng. and Dr.-Ing. degrees in Computer Science from the University of Technology in Dresden. Since 1994 she holds a professorship for data structures and software dependability at the Brandenburg University of Technology in Cottbus. She visited as researcher various international institutes, among them Boston University, University of Costa Rica, INRIA Paris, and Brunel University in London. She has expertise in Petri nets, extending her application focus on computer-based systems with high dependability demands by natural systems in the late nineties. She applied various techniques from the standard body of Petri net theory to system validation, and also employed computational methods for stochastic and continuous system evaluation, including model checking. Methodology-oriented aspects of her work include a unifying framework of computational models and BioModel Engineering. Over the last 15 years her group at Cottbus has developed a sophisticated toolkit to support the methodology, comprising Snoopy, Charlie, and Marcie, which can be equally applied to models of technical and natural systems.
Prof. Dr. Martin Heine
is a professor for electronic systems at the Furtwangen University (HFU) in the campus at Tuttlingen. Prof. Heine exhibits a long-standing and appropriate work experience in the automotive industry for Siemens and Daimler. During this time, he was also overseas, in particular in China, in leading function for several years. Also today he acts for some international companies in China as an adviser and trainer.
Dr. Frank Lischewski
studied electrical engineering and did his PHD in control-, communicaton- and safety concepts for ATVs. He has practical experience in the development of controls (HW/SW) and design of safety facilities in the fields mechanical- and automotive engineering (cranes, lifting devices, trucks, forklifters). Nowadays he is responsible for E/E/PES-development and System Safety at Krauss-Maffei Wegmann. He also represents the company in the working group "SIL-determination for military systems" with participants from the Army, the industry and consultants.
has been active in the field of quality assurance and software project management. For many years he has worked as process consultant in different civil and military avionic projects, thus able to provide hands-on experience to participants.
Prof. Dr. Francesca Saglietti
is holder of the chair for Software Engineering at the University Erlangen-Nürnberg. Prior to that she worked as a scientist in the field of software reliability for safety critical applications (GRS / ISTec, Garching at Munich) and as a private lecturer (TU Munich). Furthermore she is chairwoman of the european society EWICS TC7 (European Workshop on Industrial Computer Systems, Technical Committee on Reliability, Safety and Security) and speaker of the GI/ITG-expert committee "Reliability and Failure Tolerance" (Gesellschaft für Informatik / Informationstechnische Gesellschaft im VDE).
studied electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University. For over 20 years he has been active in quality management in the automotive industry. In addition to working for years as a trainer in the field of systematic and analytical problem solving and technical and analytical decision making he is an experienced FMEA moderator and Functional Safety Specialist. His focus is on: ISO 26262:2011, FMEA, quality management systems, quality management techniques, APQP, PPAP, Run @ Rate, SPC, MSA, ISO / TS 16949. He is also AFSE - Automotive Functional Safety Expert (certified by SGS TÜV Germany) and QM Prüfmittelbeauftragter (certified by TAW)
studied electrical engineering and operated in the aviation industry in the Product Support for military aircraft. He has extensive knowledge in all proceedings and analysis in the fields of maintainability, testability and reliability for hardware and software. Mr. Scharer is experienced in the implementation of Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) in the international environment and the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) determination of devices and systems. He has managed the development and set-up of the Systems Support Center Eurofighter and made significant contributions on the harmonization of required cooperative methods and processes between the Air Force and industry. Furthermore he was responsible for the development of modern Integrated Logistic Support concepts for the Air Force and export customers in the Eurofighter program.
holds an University Engineering Degree (Dipl. Ing. ) in aerospace engineering. He has been nominated as an official expert for damages on aircrafts (incl. engines). The referent has initiated the ASD specification S4000M and is a permanent member of the international ASD S4000M Working Group.
studied computer science at the BTU Cottbus. She is the head of Philotech´s Competence Center for Functional Safety based in Cottbus. She works as a project leader and process consultant for certification support, software development, verification and validation of safety-related projects, mainly in the department of embedded avionic systems.
An additional part of her work is also consulting for quality assurance and safety processes. She is trainer for several Philotech Academy courses for Software Development, Verification and Validation as well as Safety Assessment
is a senior A/C Maintenance engineer for civil transport, military A/C and A/C systems. In the last 10 years he has gained profound expert knowledge in all MSG-3 disciplines with different manufacturers (e.g. Fairchild-Dornier, Airbus, Boeing, Gulfstream, Bombardier). Mr. Schulz is also experienced in the development of Policy and Procedure Handbooks (PPH) and in the revision of MRB- / MPD-Tasks according to the evaluation of Airline In-Service-Experience (Evolution Programs).
Prof. Dr. Eßig & Team
Prof. Dr. Eßig teaches business administration, in particular materials management and distribution at the Universität der Bundeswehr (University of the German armed forces) in Munich. He realised a variety of research and consulting projects as well as some publications in the fields of purchasing cooperative, strategic procurement, electronic procurement and Supply Chain Management.
His employees Prof. Dr. Glaß and Mr. von Deimling are supporting Prof. Eßig. They do research in the field of Defence Supply Management and work hand in hand with partner from the German armed forces and defense industry. Prof. Glas wrote his dissertation about the topic "Public Performance-based Contracting" and did a lot of case studies.
Nico von Falkenhayn
is a certified risk manager at MarServices® GmbH. He is a trainer and expert on human factors and resilience.
Nico von Falkenhayn studied social science at the University of the Bundeswehr in Munich. He has a military background and served as Captain in the German Army. There Nico von Falkenhayn gained profound experience of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) including Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) as well as Aviation Safety Management.
He specialized on human factors, human error culture and risk management.
has studied aerospace engineering and control systems engineering. As the lead airworthiness engineer for Engine Control Systems in the Airworthiness Office of Rolls-Royce Deutschland, he is responsible for the certification related activities for the Full Authority Digital Engine Control System (FADEC). His major competences are on the areas of Development and Certification of Complex Safety Critical Systems (DAL A) according to ARP4754A and ARP4761 and Software and Airborne Electronic Hardware according to DO-178C and DO-254. He is actively involved in several Industry/EASA/FAA rule making tasks for Engine and Aircraft Certification. Before joining the certification business, he gathered his experiences in the areas of System Design and Verification and Flight Test Engineering in Rolls-Royce and Airbus.
has a long career of gaining experience in the Aerospace Industries and has developed a high level of expertise in Project Management through many international aerospace projects lead for various Aerospace companies.
He setup the consulting company Aerospace PM Partner in 2008 and has since built up a team of highly skilled consultants with over 10 years experience in the Aerospace Industries and Project Management.

Seit 1976 in verschiedenen Bereichen der Informationstechnologie tätig, konzentrierte sich Herr Haesner seit 1986 in der Hauptsache auf die Problematik des Konfigurationsmanagement in der Luft- und Raumfahrt und Automobilindustrie. Unter seiner Leitung wurden verschiedene Lösungen für das Konfigurationsmanagement entwickelt.
started his career in telecommunications but has more than 40 years of experience in the international aerospace industry. He worked as a Systems Design Engineer, as Flight Test Engineer and as Test Team Leader for Avionics, Armament and Mission Systems. He developed a high level of expertise in various national and international programmes. Prior to his retirement as an expert adviser in Avionics Flight Tests, he played a crucial role in establishing the system development process in Cassidian. He is a member of the Society of Flight Test Engineers (SFTE), the Society of German Engineers (VDI) and the Aerospace Technical Handbook working group for Flight Test Aspects.
Dr. Tobias Koal
Dr. Tobias Koal studied computer science at the BTU Cottbus. He is the head of Philotech´s Competence Center for Embedded Security based in Cottbus. His main topics of interest cover safety & security related Hard- and Software projects. He is an experienced security consultant and project manager. Additionally he teaches different topics regarding Hardware Development at BTU Cottbus – Senftenberg. Furthermore, Dr.Koal is authorized trainer within the Philotech Academy for the T.P.S.S.E. seminar.
studied physics at the Technical University of Darmstadt and the Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg i.Br. He has worked over 15 years in systems engineering and project management for mobile bridge systems. The past 7 years he has gained experience in Safety Management according to MIL-STD 882, DIN EN 61508 (up to SIL3) and ISO 26262 (up to ASIL C) for military land systems. As project manager at MAN Technology and KMW, he established the safety management and safety-related software development for the product area of mobile bridges. Moreover he leads a safety analyses section for more than 4 years at Rheinmetall (RLS/RWM). Now he is at Krauss-Maffei Wegmann responsible for the safety management of a large-scale development program. He is a certified project manager (GPM / IPMA), V-Model XT Project Manager / Quality Manager and holds an MBA in Systems Management (FH Landshut / University of Texas at Dallas).
Prof. Dr. Peter Langendörfer
holds a diploma and a doctorate degree in computer science. Since 2000 he is with the IHP in Frankfurt (Oder). There, he is leading the sensor networks and mobile middleware group. Since 2012 he has his own chair for security in pervasive systems at the Technical University of Cottbus. He has published more than 100 refereed technical articles, filed ten patents in the security/privacy area and worked as guest editor for many renowned journals e.g. Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (Wiley). He was chairing International conferences such as WWIC and has served in many TPC for example at Globecom, VTC, ICC and SECON. His research interests include wireless sensor networks and cyber physical systems, especially privacy and security issues.
has worked as an officer for the Air Force, as a systems engineer and in executive functions of the industrie. In this positions he got to know all facets of Support Engineering, reliability, maintenance, availability, life cycle cost and requirements of technical and logistic resources in the operation of complex systems. His 40 years of practical experience gives him the know-how for significant potentials which can be realised by an analysis fitted on the respective project and by the use focused on cost effectiveness of ILS and LSA.
obtained the degrees M Eng (Control Systems) and M Eng (Engineering Management), as well as a specialised curriculum Diploma in Systems Engineering, from the University of Pretoria, South Africa. His professional experience as systems engineer includes areas such as process control and automation, measurement and control equipment development, rotorcraft avionic system realisation and certification, enterprise architecture and business process (re-)engineering, commercial aviation cabin maintenance system definition, specification and requirements engineering, model-based systems engineering and others. He is a member of the systems engineering fraternity INCOSE and its German Chapter GfSE. He presented several papers on systems engineering topics at national and international conferences.
studied applied mathematics in the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg. He is Head of Department in the Department for Verification and Validation at the Philotech Cottbus Branch and manages several Verification projects in the field of embedded avionic systems. For a couple of years now he supports Philotech Academy as a speaker in the Field Software Test and is able to impart practical knowledge to the participants due to his many years of experience.
is a project manager and system developer with many years of practical experience with LSA Tools. She made significant contributions to the specification and the development of the Philotech owned LSA tool “ASSET” (following ASD S3000LTM Standard). She gained additional technical/logistic experience while being involved in the development process of the LSA Tool „PILS“ for EADS MAS, which is dedicated to the logistic support of the Eurofighter project (following MIL-STD 1388).
has studied computer sciences and engineering at the Lausitz University of Applied Sciences. Later he worked at the Brandenburg Technical University in the domains software test as well as modelling and analysis of Petri nets. He has been working for Philotech GmbH since 2008.
Mr. Richter is an experienced software test consultant and project manager with an emphasis on software development and test of safety-critical systems in civil aerospace, especially for the IMA framework. Furthermore, Mr. Richter supports the Philotech Academy as an authorized trainer for the seminar "Certified Tester Foundation Level". Due to years of experience he is able to provide practical and easily comprehensible knowledge to the trainees.
